What is the aim of this course?
The aim of this course is to revise and review knowledge on wound healing and the best dressings to use when dealing with different phases of wound healing.
Intended learning outcomes
By the end of this course, you should be able to:
- Summarise the physiology of wound healing
- Understand the anatomy of the skin
- Correctly select appropriate dressings for wounds

This course is for RVNs and SVNs who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in wound management.

Advanced Veterinary Nurse
I am a 12-year qualified veterinary nurse who has worked in small animal practice as both a head nurse and a practice director. I have been working with the Learning, Education and Development team since January 2020, looking after the nursing programme.
I have my Advanced Diploma in Veterinary Nursing and recently obtained my Masters degree in Veterinary Nursing. I have a special interest in medical nursing and love supporting nurses in all aspects of their learning.
