What is the aim of this course?

This course will allow the learner to develop an understanding of commonly seen ECC cases and how to nurse them. It will provide the opportunity to explore the topics of shock and triage, how to deal with cases of GDV and urinary obstruction and types of commonly encountered animal toxins.

Intended learning outcomes

On completion of this course you should be able to:

  • Identify how to nurse common emergency presentations across commonly seen species
  • Demonstrate the correct nursing of shock and how to monitor for deterioration  ​
  • Review the current nursing of emergency patients in practice and how this could be improved
